HELEN’S ROLE

Helen’s role as Head of Finance is to manage the finances of Community Justice Scotland and ensuring the appropriate governance arrangements are in place to support CJS business.

BACKGROUND

Helen has worked in various finance, corporate services and governance roles in public, and independent  sectors in the UK. After training and qualifying with a local authority she was seconded to the Registration and Inspection Unit(pre Care Inspectorate ) where she worked as part of a multi -disciplinary unit. She then spent the a number of years in senior roles in local government social work and housing, before working as a senior auditor and taking on a number of interim roles in the wider public sector, independent sector and housing sector.

Helen is a CIPFA  (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) member and has previously been an examiner with the Institute.

Helen is currently the Chair of Fife Housing Group and is a board member for an Edinburgh based charity working with young people and families.
