Fiscal Work Order
Fiscal Work Orders were introduced across Scotland in April 2015. A Fiscal Work Order offers the accused person the opportunity to complete a period of between 10-50 hours of unpaid work as an alternative to prosecution.
The most recent data shows that in 2024/25 there were 40 Fiscal Work Orders commenced in Scotland. This was a drop
from 100 in 2023-24 and the lowest in the last ten years.
