Section 26: data dashboard
This dashboard presents national‑level performance information in support of Community Justice Scotland’s statutory duty under Section 26 of the Community Justice (Scotland) Act to assess progress against the nationally determined community justice outcomes using the agreed national indicators. It has been developed to make performance information more accessible, intuitive and engaging, offering an alternative to the traditional written report.
The dashboard provides a clear visual representation of performance across key indicators, enabling users to explore trends, support planning activity and aid reporting. Data can be viewed at a national level, with the option to compare performance across up to two Local Areas at a time where appropriate. When making local comparisons, users are encouraged to consider the wider context provided by the Local Government Benchmarking Framework to support accurate and meaningful interpretation of results.
The information presented should be interpreted alongside the Community Justice Performance Framework (CJPF) Guidance and Technical Notes, which provide full details on indicator definitions, data sources and methodologies. To maintain clarity, accuracy and performance, selections within the dashboard are limited where necessary, and guidance or warning messages are displayed to support appropriate use.
Community Justice Scotland is committed to maintaining the quality, relevance and accuracy of the dashboard, with data and indicators reviewed and updated annually to reflect the latest available evidence and policy context.
