Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO)
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) replaced sexual offences prevention orders (SOPOs) in March 2023. A Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) can order people convicted of a sexual crime to follow certain rules and can stop them from doing anything listed in the Order. For example, under an SHPO an offender might be prohibited from visiting a place which is likely to have children, or their internet activity might be restricted in some way. These Orders are given to protect the public or a particular person. These Orders can be imposed in Sheriff Court only. You can find more information here.
