Where the order contains an alcohol treatment requirement an individual must submit to treatment by or under the direction of a specified person with a view to the reduction or elimination of the offender’s dependency on alcohol.

Within Moray Integrated Drug and Alcohol Service (MIDAS) there is a small social work team who undertake assessments in relation to residential rehab. Assessments are also completed by MIDAS for residential and community detox programmes. The team have close links with GP practices and pharmacies regarding the prescribing of medication to support the treatment of chronic alcohol use.
