Aim/Purpose:

Vector24 supports seafarers, blue light workers, veterans and serving personnel in the justice system, and their families by removing transport barriers before, during and after custody. We provide safe, reliable volunteer-led journeys for: Pre-liberation support: transport to legal appointments, prisoner‑support meetings, housing and benefits interviews to prepare for release, and transport to courses. During custody: transport for family members to visit Scottish Prison Service (SPS) establishments, and travel to regular meetings and reviews held within SPS facilities. Post-liberation support: transport to probation appointments, healthcare, housing, employment and training to aid reintegration and reduce reoffending. Family support: trips for relatives to attend SPS meetings, welfare appointments and community services while their loved one is in custody. Key features: Core service: free volunteer transport tailored to individual needs. Non-clinical: drivers do not provide medical care but ensure people can reach professionals who do. Safe and respectful: trained volunteers, safeguarding procedures and clear role boundaries for trips to custody sites and formal meetings. Practical wraparound: signposting and referrals to partner agencies for legal, housing, mental health and welfare support. Local and flexible: community volunteers provide timely journeys to SPS establishments and appointments. In short: Vector24 ensures people involved with the justice system and their families can attend essential meetings and appointments before, during and after custody, supporting rehabilitation, family contact and access to services.
