Aim/Purpose:
The Turning Point Scotland Turnaround service delivers focussed services that address the complex and interrelated issues of offending behaviour and problematic use of alcohol and other drugs. An asset-based approach has been adopted to help increase an individual’s self-awareness, self-esteem and confidence. Self-development and reflection is key to an individual when putting into practice the skills and learning achieved within the service to help sustain their recovery and offending behaviour. Turnaround Throughcare is the preparatory stage of the service and provides individualised, practical support in the community before entering Turnaround Residential service. which aims to address the immediate needs of individuals by linking them into recovery networks, mutual aid groups, community support and health services in their local area. The throughcare element of support is designed to help people sustain their recovery and reduce offending behaviour.
Suitability criteria:
- Male
- Middle-aged adult (36-55), Older adult (56 and older), Young adult (18-35)
Assessment/referral process:
- Social work
Turnaround currently supports men in the justice system on community orders via referrals from Social Services Justice sector teams Referrals should be directed to ReferralsTurnaround@turningpointscotland.com
