A DTTO is a high tariff disposal for individuals with drug problems who might otherwise receive a custodial sentence. DTTO is delivered in partnership with Alcohol and Drugs Recovery Service through a shared Senior Addiction Nurse post.

The purpose of a Drug Treatment and testing Order is to target individuals whose offending is a direct result of their drug misuse, for example, those who steal to fund their habit and who are at direct risk of a custodial sentence.
