Aim/Purpose:
The children and young people’s service at DWA supports children and young people affected by domestic abuse. This can be both within the family environment (parent/carer) or within their own abusive relationship and the abuse can be historical or present. The service provides both 1:1 emotional support and group work focussing on recovery from domestic abuse through a range of topics such as safety & safety planning, healthy relationships, feelings & emotions and self esteem & confidence.
Suitability criteria:
- All genders
- Adolescent (17 and under)
Exclusions:
We support any gender identity up to the age of 18 years, after 18 we support anyone identifying as female up to the age of 22 through the children and young people’s service. For ages 22+ the women’s support service would be most suitable.
Assessment/referral process:
- Any agency, Self-referral
