Aim/Purpose:

The Family Centre and Help Hub at HMP&YOI Grampian support families affected by imprisonment. We provide variety of support to people whose loved ones are in custody which includes: basic information, practical support, emotional support, outreach. We also advocate on behalf of those affected by imprisonment and continue to voice their needs in front of main stakeholders.

  • All genders
  • All ages

Assessment/referral process:

  • Any agency, Court, GP, Health professional, Self-referral, Social work

Further Information:

We can help with following:

  • Provide ALL necessary information about visiting (i.e. procedures, rules and regulations, what to expect when you visit; how to claim travel/accommodation expenses, virtual visits, E-mail a prisoner, money transfers, etc)
  • The Hub receives surplus food from the local supermarkets. The food is free for the visitors to take home. Provide information and access to virtual visits
  • Provide independent advice and help raise your voices Information about HMP&YOI Grampian visiting procedures
  • Providing any additional support ( i.e. how to access children visits; improve wellbeing, help explaining to your children that a parent is in prison, help you access additional support within your community, etc)
