Aim/Purpose:

The Investing in Communities Team work collaboratively with ACC Justice social work and the unpaid work team as well as the prison service to support individuals who are justice experienced to complete other activity for unpaid work – working with the client to break down barriers to employment and holistically support the individual to obtain training, qualification and certification to enable them to get back to employment.

Whilst looking at barriers, we also look at reintegration, offering groups for confidence building and integration in a safe environment. Some of these groups include women’, men’, Arts and crafts, and digital skills. There is also 10-12 week programs of self management courses, living life to the full, and wellbeing courses. All run with aiming to improve peoples outlook on life.

We also provide 1:1 support for those who are not suitable or ready for group work. 1:1 working is tailored to the individuals. Our Team attends the prison monthly to meet with clients 1:1 offering preliberation support and appointments at Foyer on release for employability support.
