Where the order contains a drug treatment requirement an individual must submit to treatment by or under the direction of a specified person with a view to reducing or eliminating the offender’s dependency on, or propensity to misuse, drugs.

No specific scheme. There were no Mental Health Treatment, Drug Treatment, Alcohol or Residence Requirements imposed in 2018-19. This suggests that those with a diagnosed mental illness are already in treatment. Similarly, those with potentially ‘treatable’ drug problems are already able to access services. Where appropriate, and where a person is assessed as suitable, a Drug Treatment and Testing order may be given as an appropriate disposal. Can be assessed in conjunction with relevant agency at Criminal Justice Social Work Report Stage.
