Learning for Local Areas 2024-25: The SHORE standards in community justice

We are pleased to present the first Learning for Local Areas report for 2026, based on activity taking place across Scotland in the 2024-25 reporting year.

This report focuses on activity linked to Priority Action 8 of the National Strategy for Community Justice: “Ensure that the housing needs of individuals in prison are addressed consistently and at an early stage by fully implementing and embedding the Sustainable Housing on Release for Everyone (SHORE) standards across all local authority areas”

Our report draws on the rich evidence returned to CJS by the thirty community justice partnerships, and includes detailed insights into local practice.
