Men who have committed domestic abuse offences

Caledonian

Details of all Specific national or local scheme/intervention(s) available

Caledonian System is delivered similarly and is an available option for the court should an individual be assessed as suitable following conviction of a domestic violence offence. Through this programme victims, current partners and children are also offered services.

This programme is being delivered under Covid-19 restrictions. Small group delivery is in place at present, group sizes will hopefully be increased soon.

Possible Outcomes

Increased recognition of and responsibility for behaviour. Reduction in risk of harm and re-offending. Increased support for families of those convicted of domestic abuse.

Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention

Assessment of suitability via CJSWR. Delivered as a sentence of the court.
