Deferred Sentence

Details of all Specific national or local scheme/intervention(s) available

Criminal Justice Social Work may make a preference for a deferred
sentence because a care plan/support package is already in place, as part of another order.

Possible Outcomes

  1. Someone has received a period of support to address an underlying issue related to their offending.
  2. A specialist assessment has been completed and the person’s suitability determined for a particular programme or intervention.

Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention

This will be assessed as part of a Criminal Justice Social Report.

Yes – Inverclyde has adopted a public health model whereby support is available to address underlying severe and multiple disadvantages including homelessness, addiction, mental health and trauma.

 

Interventions suitable for

Males aged 20 to 40 years, unemployed, in recovery and from the Greenock Central or Port Glasgow Area

Programme Title and Provider

RISE (Routes into Supported Employment) Inverclyde Council

Details of all Specific national or local scheme/intervention(s) available

Criminal Justice Social Work may make a referral for relevant individuals to the RISE project.

Possible Outcomes

1. Individuals can be supported to continue in their recovery journey
2. Community Support Workers will work with individuals to provide advice and guidance.
3. An Occupational Therapist will work alongside individuals to support health and wellbeing
4. A work placement in phase two of the project to support individuals into employability.

Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention

This will be assessed as part of a Criminal Justice Social Report or part of the post service interview. Individuals may also self refer.
