An SDS can be used to undertake short term and focused intervention work and also monitor good behaviour and/or progress towards identified goals. Progress reports can be made available to the Court.

Possible Outcomes

Opportunity to reduce risk of reoffending, and demonstrate stability of lifestyle to the Court without recourse to statutory orders.
OR
Opportunity to provide evidence of ability to comply with justice services prior to sentence in cases where compliance to previous community orders has been an issue.
