Possible Outcomes

Support, care and treatment is provided to individuals diagnosed with a mental health condition or learning disability which is linked to their offending behaviour.

Process for assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention

For a mental health treatment requirement to be imposed under a CPO the court has to gain evidence from a registered medical practitioner that the individual suffers from a mental health condition that does not meet the requirement for compulsory treatment, and that their condition may be susceptible to treatment.  Psychiatric and Criminal Justice Social Work Reports are required.
