Community Payback Order: Treatment: Alcohol

Interventions suitable for

People affected by problematic alcohol use

Programme title and provider

Treatment: Alcohol

Details of all specific national or local scheme/intervention(s) available

Specific interventions can be made available by ABAT for individuals who are assessed as having an alcohol dependency, and whose alcohol use is a contributory factor in their offending behaviour.  For individuals who do not meet the threshold of assessment of alcohol dependence, intervention can be undertaken through a supervision requirement without the need for a treatment requirement.

Possible Outcomes

Support to address alcohol dependence can reduce the risk of re-offending and improve the individual’s personal and social needs.

Process for assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention

Assessment for an alcohol treatment requirement would be via Criminal Justice Social Work Report and if appropriate specialist assessment by ABAT to determine the most suitable and available intervention.
