The purpose of a supervision requirement is to undertake Offence Focused Interventions on a 1-1 base to reduce the risk of reoffending. Individual programmes of intervention and level of service will be determined by the risks and needs presented by the service user.
To determine risk and need Justice Social Work uses the following approved assessment tools:
LSCMi: risk and need case management tool
SARA: Spousal Assault Risk Assessment
SAO7 and RMK200: Sexual Offending Assessment Tool
Justice Star: Needs assessment tool
ROSH: Risk of serious harm assessment
SAPROV: Protective factors assessment for sexual offenders
START-AV Risk assessment for young people
Regular reviews will be held throughout the duration of the order.
A supervision requirement can also be imposed to oversee payment of a compensation requirement.
Possible Outcomes
Structured offence focused work can reduce the risk of reoffending by addressing criminogenic needs and any other needs identified to achieve desistance.
Supervision promotes integration of community resource to provide ongoing support when justice social work are no longer involved.
Process for assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention
Individuals will be assessed for suitability for supervision via a criminal justice social work report. Progress reports can also be made available to the Court.
