Linda Bendle
Linda's role
Linda joined Community Justice Scotland as the family member of someone involved with the justice system. Through direct experience, Linda has an informed opinion of how custodial sentences work and do not work. She also has strong views on how release and reintegration into the community can be improved, with the ultimate aim of preventing and reducing offending.
Linda is particularly interested in how the sentencing and rehabilitation of an offender impacts on their family, and in how those with complex needs can be better supported.
Background
Linda is CEO of Heavy Sound, a community interest company specialising in re-engaging disconnected young people and adults through meaningful person-centred activities including music, sports, creative engagement, education and mentoring. Through this we help develop life skills towards evolving, positive, future destinations.
Linda also chairs the board of Families Outside.
