We’re back – and for our national event 2025 we’re warmly inviting you to attend, in-person!

Join us at The Social Hub in Glasgow on 7 October, for a morning of looking to the future

  • What can emerging technology do for community justice?
  • Should AI make us feel hopeful, scared, or both?
  • Will it compromise or enhance our human rights?
  • Can AI help us create a safer, fairer justice system for all?

Baroness Shami Chakrabarti CBE PC

Shami is a leading British human rights lawyer and campaigner who has written and broadcast widely and held a number of public roles in recent decades. A legislator in the House of Lords, she is the author of On Liberty and Of Women. Director of Liberty (the National Council for Civil Liberties) from 2003 to 2016, she was Shadow Attorney General for England and Wales from 2016 to 2020.

Dr Susie Alegre

Susie is barrister specialising in international human rights law and technology. She has over 25 years experience working on human rights in the UK and internationally advising civil society, international organisations, governments, regulators and individuals on some of the most challenging issues of our time from counter-terrorism to the human rights impact of climate change. She is the author of “Freedom to Think” (Atlantic Books 2022) and “Human Rights, Robot Wrongs: Being Human in the Age of AI.”

Claire Feasey – Client Partner, Justice and Public Safety at IBM

Claire works closely with public sector organisations to build innovative technology solutions: including automation, AI, and digital transformation – that address some of the unique challenges faced in justice systems.

Her approach is grounded in both strategic insight and lived experience. Claire regularly visits justice institutions across the UK, including prisons, courts, and probation offices, gaining a first-hand understanding of the system and the opportunities for meaningful reform.

Harmeet is a specialist AI consultant working with the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service and other public/private organisations, using technology and AI to make complex work simpler and more reliable, and to drive measurable efficiencies across business workflows.
