Aim/Purpose:

We provide residential recovery through stabilisation and/or abstinence for those seeking support with alcohol and/or drug dependency, in our Safe As Houses residential facility with its associated scatter flats. Alternatives also offers support in the community for those seeking to sustain their recovery in a community setting through participation in our social enterprises as a step towards employment/training and meaningful activity in their local community within West Dunbartonshire. The Operation base currently consists of: • A main office in Quay Street, Dumbarton • A 15-bed residential rehabilitation service -Safe as Houses in Jean Armour Drive, Clydebank • 4 x 2-bedroom Scatter Flats in Drumry • A National Link Service including Prison to Rehab • A Family Support Service -1-1support, Bereavement Support, Group Meetings, Wellbeing Activities, Education and Community Events. • A Volunteer Project • An Employability Pathway NOLB Traineeship Programme ( presently hosting 8 x placements) • Student Placements ( presently hosting 1 x Community Development student & 1 x Psychology student) We also have 3 x Social Enterprise Projects: – offering volunteering, training and education placements • Sweet Success Café based Concord Community Centre • Perfect Blend Tea Room based in Denny Tank Museum, Dumbarton • Dalmuir Community Café based Overton Court Flats, Clydebank.

Suitability criteria:

  • All genders
  • Middle-aged adult (36-55), Older adult (56 and older), Young adult (18-35)

Exclusions:

Those with Schedule 1 offences and arson are excluded as are those with limited capacity that precludes him/her from participating in group programme

Assessment/referral process:

  • Any agency, Self-referral
