Last updated: 28th July 2024

Further Information:

Mental health treatment provisions in South Lanarkshire are provided by local G.P services, Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) and local psychiatric services via NHS Lanarkshire.

Treatment plans are created and tailored to meet the individuals needs and will be subject to regular monitoring by health and social care professionals based within local Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT).

Those within the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) will provide the agreed treatment plans. This will include the following:

  • Signposting, advice, and guidance – people who are referred to the Community Mental Health Team who do not require further intervention may benefit from further information about local/national resources or onward referral to a more appropriate service
  • Interventions for people with complex and acute mental health needs – people who have been assessed as having complex mental health needs are likely to require a range of services and interventions, in order to promote recovery, prevent deterioration and maintain an optimal level of health and social inclusion
