Unpaid work in the community forms the part of reparation and punishment. Its available to all service users deemed fit for work. The work involves being part of a team undertaking work in local community projects, placements in charity shops etc. and light duties when required.

Possible Outcomes

To allow people the opportunity to gain some structure in their lives, gain some new skills that could improve their employability prospects and repay the community for their offending behaviour.

Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention

Individual’s suitability is assessed at the time of preparing the Criminal Justice Social Work report. Level one orders can be imposed by Court without a report.
