Aim/Purpose:
Access to specific support for women after appearing from Custody Court to support any action plan for bail (lower tariff than Bail Supervision) to promote use of bail. Access to one to one support, focusing on presenting issues and supporting women to attend future Court dates and manage any barriers to attendance.
Suitability criteria:
- Female only
- All ages
Assessment/referral process:
- Social work
Court Social Work staff will liaise with Barnardo’ Support Workers regarding referrals and engagement will usually commence on the day of Court following release from custody.
