Aim/Purpose:

The purpose of Reconnect is to support women at risk of offending or re offending. The service involves group participation and establishing links with other services that provide support. The service supports women to: • Build confidence and self-esteem • Challenge negative thinking • Work on communication skills • Improve their health and wellbeing • Understand their behaviour and how to make changes • Link in with various services and community projects • Try new experiences.

Suitability criteria:

  • Female only
  • Middle-aged adult (36-55), Older adult (56 and older), Young adult (18-35)

Assessment/referral process:

  • Health professional, Other, Self-referral, Social work

Through Justice Court report assessment. Referral via Local Arrest Referral Scheme by Police Scotland. NHS and Self-referral.

Further Information:

A 12 week rolling group work programme for women who are at risk of offending and/or who have a number of complex social, emotional and psychological needs. The service aims to provide a safe and secure environment were women can build their confidence and self-esteem, and make positive steps towards improving their overall wellbeing, improve decision making processes. Outcomes are designed to reduce offending behaviours.
