Aim/Purpose:

PX2 Becoming Me is a 10-unit course equipping young people/young adults with the mind setting tools to help them reach their potential. Journey to Freedom empowers individuals to shift from contemplation to action, fostering hope, motivation, and personal growth for a happier life. 8 units run over 8 weeks. This has also been delivered on a few occasions to men in Perth prison with some good results but does require funding. Both of these courses can be run in prison pre-release or at our centre. Once our new Y Centre opens in Spring 2024 we will have 7 flats for young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless.

Suitability criteria:

  • All genders
  • Adolescent (17 and under), Young adult (18-35)

Assessment/referral process:

  • Any agency, Self-referral

Young people aged 16-25 There will be some criteria for specific opportunities ie employability work is aimed at young people aged 15 1/2 – 25. YMCA referral form to be used for all work except Universal Drop In’s, which are based in various communities across Tayside. Referrals can be submitted by anyone and are assessed at our weekly allocations meetings. Email – referrals@ymcatayside.com
