Aim/Purpose:

The Centre aims to; • Increase self-esteem • Reduce social isolation • Motivate & encourage positive communications which provides a scaffolding for a sense of wellbeing & promotes self-care for the family. • We welcome all visitors to HMP Perth & provide an excellent service for the SPS. From a good cup of coffee to an agency referral, we are help to help. • The Centre provides a safe space for before or after a visit. • Free food & refreshments. • We link in with the Family Contact Officers and all SPS staff. • Our Children’ worker facilitates informal play in the visit room on each family visit, using Baker Ross arts & crafts. • Local Churches support us through providing knitted clothes, supermarket vouchers & gifts at Christmas for 300 children. • Birthday gifts for each child until 12 years old. • We work closely with the Trussell trust to provide emergency food parcels & for prisoners on release. • Our staff are trauma informed & come from a range of professional backgrounds. • We work in partnership with Connecting Scotland for digital inclusion. • Safe Space for prisoner’ on release to wait for their families.
