Criminal Justice Social Work (CJSW) have a Drug Testing and Treatment team within DAIT based in Inverness that provides this service across Highland. (DTTO2s, a more modern form of Drug Testing and Treatment orders targeting a younger poly-drug using cohort, is also available. This is a less intensive version of Drug Testing and Treatment orders with a less rigorous testing regime. This is delivered in accordance with the Drug Testing and Treatment orders National Guidance issued by the Scottish Government (2004).

Possible Outcomes

Reduction or cessation of drug use, including the elimination of a person’s dependency or propensity to misuse drugs and to achieve positive changes in the scale and frequency of drug related offending.

Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention

Through a Criminal Justice Social Work Report (CJSWR). Details of programmes and interventions are normally included in the report, together with an outline action plan.
