As above. Highland offers the following specific programmes:

(1) Domestic Abuse – the Caledonian System: a nationally accredited group work and 1:1 programme, (where group work is not viable this is made clear in reports) address more serious ‘coercive control’ perpetrators of domestic abuse;

(2) Moving Forward: Making Changes, a sex offender group work programme;

(3) A locally developed women’s programme – only available in the Inverness area – specifically addresses the needs of women.

Possible Outcomes

All Community Payback Orders aim to deliver the 3 key outcomes for Criminal Justice Social Work – reducing reoffending, social inclusion and protecting the public/community safety – as set out in the National Outcomes & Standards for social work services in the criminal justice system (SG 2010). This may be achieved by improving an individual’s employment prospects or completion of a programme that addresses the reasons why they offend.

Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention

Through a Criminal Justice Social Work Report (CJSWR). Details of programmes and interventions are normally included in the report, together with an outline action plan.
