Aim/Purpose:

Friend Autism Scotland provides support for adults who are autistic and their carers. We provide peer support, a drop-in and advice on welfare benefits. We can provide 1-1 support for people who need support. We also have a weekly walking group. We provide training for statutory bodies, around autism awareness training. We provide support for autistic people who work, which is based on the model of supervision from the NHS. This enables the person to maintain employment.

Suitability criteria:

  • All genders
  • Middle-aged adult (36-55), Older adult (56 and older), Young adult (18-35)

Exclusions:

Any persons who are convicted of a sex offence will only receive peer support and not referred to the drop-in or walking group.

Assessment/referral process:

  • Any agency, Court, GP, Health professional, Self-referral, Social work
