Community Payback Order Treatment: Mental Health

Last updated: 27th June 2024

Description:

Where the order contains a mental health treatment requirement an individual must submit to treatment by or under the direction of a registered medical practitioner or a registered psychologist (or both) with a view to improving the offender’s mental condition.

Further Information:

The purpose of imposing a mental health treatment requirement is to ensure that an individual who has been diagnosed with a mental health condition and/or learning disability which contributes to the individual’ offending receives support, care and treatment to enable them to improve their mental health in terms of their mental health needs. People who are made subject to such a requirement will be supported both by Justice Social Work and East Renfrewshire Council Mental Health Team.
