Bespoke service to women subject to a Community Payback Order and/or being released from custody. Service supports women who are returning to the community following a period in custody, they will meet the woman in custody prior to release and support practically and emotionally on release.
Women subject to a Community Payback Order who may be at risk of breach are supported to attend appointments; address emotional and practical issues.

Court Screening Service – Court Action Notes, Initial Assessment, Risk Alerts, Assessment for Bail Supervision, Advice, Sign Posting, Multi-agency Updates, Liaison with Social Work Area Teams, FMHS, Lawyers, Sheriff Clerk, PF, Sheriffs and Prison Service. If the Court process ended many of these women could slip through the net and their needs may not be met. In the case of women who have never been arrested before, the worker is able to interview the woman in the custody cells and explain the procedure to them and be able to support them during the day if required. Their families are contacted and information provided where necessary.

Employability

CVO

Provide specific placements via the GRAFT project which offer individuals an opportunity to gain training and employability skills. Individuals undertake internal and external painting, gardening, hospitality, administrative and catering tasks. There is an opportunity to gain certification in skills which can support applications into employment such as certificate in Health and Hygiene, first aid, CSCS card and health & Safety.

Possible Outcomes

A number of individuals have progressed into training and education following successful completion of their order. A number of individuals have secured modern apprenticeships and employment within the project.

Assessment at report writing stage and during induction to UPW/ongoing assessment throughout duration of Order or on completion of unpaid work Order.
