Bail supervision schemes are designed to minimise the numbers of accused held on remand in custody pending trial or for reports after conviction, who, subject to safeguards in respect of public safety, could be released on bail to the community pending their further court hearing (SG 2008). Males and Females, aged 16+ who are at risk of remand to custody. Contact is initially three times per week consisting of two office- based and one home visit.

Possible Outcomes

Reduce remand to custody and address health/addiction needs via referrals to community-based services.

Risk and suitability assessment completed by Justice Officers/Social Workers at Court.
