Aim/Purpose:

Provide outreach housing support for people aged 26 and over who are experiencing difficulties in accessing and/or sustaining accommodation. Our Support Workers can help you to: • Help you access suitable accommodation. • Help you develop independent living skills, such as managing finances, dealing with benefit claims and general house maintenance. • Manage your rights and responsibilities as a tenant. • Help you access and engage appropriate services to improve your health and wellbeing.

Suitability criteria:

  • All genders
  • Middle-aged adult (36-55), Older adult (56 and older), Young adult (18-35)

For housing support people must be 26 years of age or over and be experiencing difficulties in accessing or sustaining accommodation. Housing Support Service referrals are made by Dumfries and Galloway Homeless/Housing Options Team. If you are currently homeless or feel your tenancy is at risk then please go to your local council offices and ask for advice or alternatively contact: 030 33 33 3000 and ask to speak to a member of your local homeless team.
