General work groups take place across the region. Personal placements can be agreed to meet the needs of the service users. Unit-based projects (joinery, art, craft), home working when no other options are available for a variety of reasons. Specific groups are available for light duties dependent on the need of the individual. A women’s only group is available also.

Possible Outcomes

Skills used on project or placement learnt and developed. Reparation to local community. Benefits from involvement in structured, pro-social activity with links to local community. Team working skills developed; sense of achievement when individual tasks and overall project completed with positive feedback from project recipients.

Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention

No longer assess for suitability per se as unpaid work is a universal option with the work tailored to each individual wherever possible.  Assessment considers what projects or placements are available to match the risk/need/responsivity and desired outcomes for an individual.
