Aim/Purpose:

Alcohol and Drugs Support South West Scotland [ADS] is a Charitable Company based in Dumfries and Galloway. They are commissioned by Dumfries and Galloway Council and Health Board to deliver a range of community-based services for people affected by alcohol and drugs issues, their own or someone else’s. Main support is for drug and alcohol issues, however, support with gambling problems is also available and accommodation/homelessness support.

People who need support with alcohol, drugs. People who have a friend/family member experiencing issues with alcohol and/or drugs. For housing support people must be referred by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Being There Family Support – over 18, living in Dumfries and Galloway. BeingThere@adssws.co.uk Specialist Alcohol and Drug Talking Therapy – self referral, partners can also refer with agreement from the individual needing support.

Specialist Alcohol and Drug Talking Therapies offers a maximum of 12 sessions, usually once or twice per week or fortnightly. ADSSWS also support the AXS Recovery Fund. The AXS Recovery Fund has been developed to help people living in Dumfries and Galloway with alcohol or drug misuse issues in their recovery process. The AXS Recovery Fund is also available to groups.
