Gerry Bann is a solicitor and senior partner in leading Scottish law firm, Adams Whyte.  Since 1992, he has specialised in the field of criminal law and has extensive experience in the operation of the criminal courts and the wider criminal justice system.

Between 1996 and 2002, Gerry served as Vice-Dean and then Dean of the Faculty of West Lothian Solicitors. From 2009 until 2016, he served as a Board Member of the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission. In that role, along with fellow Board Members, he oversaw the review and investigation of criminal cases where it is alleged that a miscarriage of justice had occurred.

Gerry also served as Member and then Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission from 2013 until 2016.
