FIONA’S ROLE

Fiona is a Learning, Development and Innovation Lead, tasked with driving learning through innovation. Fiona focuses on the design and delivery of world-class training and professional development in collaboration with justice sector partners and the wider Scottish workforce.

BACKGROUND

Before joining Community Justice Scotland, Fiona had a long career in Local Government Social Work services. Her early years were spent in Community Development, primarily working with older people, but for over twenty years, her working life has been committed to training, learning and professional development for Social Work staff. During the most recent ten years of her career, Fiona was Training and Development Officer with the former Community Justice Authority for North Strathclyde.

Always passionate about justice and social inclusion, Fiona has a particular interest in equalities, women’s justice services, young people, the impact of trauma and adverse childhood events and domestic abuse.

With a long background in working across agencies, with the voluntary sector and communities, she believes strongly in the power of partnership working and collaboration. Group work, and effective group work programmes remain a key area of her remit.
