DESCRIPTION:An Introduction to Sexually Harmful Behaviour has been designed as a one day training event that is suitable for a multi-agency audience.  It was developed by Community Justice Scotland\, in collaboration with CISSO and the Tay Project. \n  \nThis course is an introductory level course and is delivered face to face and live online.  The content consists of what is sexual offending\, prevalence\, knowledge quiz\, legislation\, public protection and the Justice and Children’s Hearing pathways\, risk assessment and intervention\, self-care and co-working practices. \n  \nIn relation to Justice Social Work\, it is highly recommended that practitioners attend this training before attending the RM2000 and Stable and Acute 2007 training.  This will enable a broader knowledge and understanding of the subject before going on to consider risk. \n  \nEmail LDI@communityjustice.scot to request nomination form for course

DESCRIPTION:Aim \nTo explore\, understand and have an opportunity to practice the key essential skills of group work facilitation. \nLearning outcomes: \nOn successful completion of the training\, participants will: \n Have an understanding of the some of the key theoretical approaches which underpin therapeutic group-work\, including \no Background and development of therapeutic group-work \no Tuckman’s group stages \no Yalom’s therapeutic factors \no Core conditions \no Cognitive Behavioural Theory \no Attachment Theory. \n Be able to explain the benefits of co-facilitation in a group-work setting\, the skills involved in co-working and some of the potential difficulties. \n Be able to describe\, demonstrate and offer feedback to peers on the key skills and competencies of group facilitation\, including \no Qualities of warmth\, empathy\, respect and being directive \no Communication skills & styles \no Questioning styles \no Challenge \no Boundaries \no Ethical practice \no Planning & preparation \n Have planned and prepared a group-work session working jointly with a colleague. \n Have delivered a group-work session from their own area of practice in CJSW or a suitable generic alternative – for example\, the change cycle\, a problem solving model or relapse prevention.  \n Have both received\, and offered appropriate\, structured feedback to peers on preparation and delivery of a group session. \nIn addition\, course participants will also have an opportunity to: \n Experience group dynamics in the training setting \n Explore issues of resistance to participation in groups\, and specifically consider methods of working with reluctant or “involuntary” clients. \n Consider the application of theory and core facilitation to each of their areas of group-work practice. \n Reflect on their learning\, develop methods which assist reflective practice\, and consider their ongoing learning needs. \n Develop understanding of the importance and role of monitoring & supervision in maintaining programme integrity.

DESCRIPTION:Candidates should have worked in Justice Social work for a minimum of two years prior to being trained in the Risk Matrix 2000 and the Stable and Acute 2007 Risk assessment tools. Exceptions can be made if a there is an urgent business case – these exceptions will be looked at on a case by case basis. \nAll candidates are advised to participate in the one day Introduction to Sexually Harmful behaviour course\, to gain a deeper understanding of working with this population and the research that sits behind the development of the tool. These courses are run quarterly. Anyone who has not worked in justice for the minimum two years\, must complete this course. \nAfter 3 years all Stable and Acute 2007 users must participate in the Stable and Acute refresher course (currently online) and regain accreditation. Exceptions can be made if a there is an urgent business case – these exceptions will be looked at on a case by case basis. \nAll candidates are advised to participate in the one day Introduction to Sexually Harmful behaviour course\, to gain a deeper understanding of working with this population and the research that sits behind the development of the tool. These courses are run quarterly. Anyone who has not worked in justice for the minimum two years\, must complete this course. \nAfter 3 years all Stable and Acute 2007 users must participate in the Stable and Acute refresher course (currently online) and regain accreditation. Community Justice Scotland will advise when this time period is about to elapse. \nRM2K Assessment completed prior to attending the SA07 training. \nEmail LDI@communityjustice.scot to request nomination form for dates.
