Bespoke service to women subject to a CPO, Supervision Requirement which includes case management, group work, support to attend appointments, advocacy, access to services of Occupational Therapist and member of Money Matters Team

Women presented with high level of need, referral made and supported to the following: 1 Referral to Addiction Services for polysubstance misuse, 2 Referral to OT for anxiety issues, 3 Supported to appointments, including homeless presentation and sexual health clinic, 4 Liaised with GP and provided crisis phone numbers when feeling suicidal

Ayrshire Women’s Team
The Women’s Court Screening Service
Details of all Specific national or local scheme/intervention(s) available
The Women’s Service provides gender specific interventions for women subject to CPO across Ayrshire. The Women’s Court Screening Service is available to all women appearing from police custody. Every woman is screened, and court notes are available for Sheriffs, Solicitors etc. Liaison also takes place with the Procurator Fiscals Service and in some cases, women are released.
Possible Outcomes
Women to receive a needs and risk led approach specifically targeted to meet their needs. The Court service aims to reduce the risk of remand for women and if deemed suitable they can be referred to universal services and/or receive support from third sector agencies including Shine from Barnardo’s for women from South and North Ayrshire. For women from East Ayrshire support is available for women from Time for Change.

Any female appearing from Custody Court at Kilmarnock or Ayr Sheriff Court will be offered this service. All women are assessed when appearing at Court by the Court social work staff
