Supervision via Community Payback Order is available to all offenders aged 16+.
Possible Outcomes
Reduced likelihood of reoffending, due to successful completion of work such as victim empathy, better understanding of their own behaviour which resulted in offending. Further benefits may include possible increased levels of self-esteem and positive outlook, that in turn may lead to increased opportunity of employment. Other areas of an offender’s life which can be improved via the supervision process are housing, financial situation (e.g. dealing with debt), mental and physical health, dealing with relationships, addictions/substance misuse.
Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention
At the Criminal Justice Social Work Report stage individuals who may benefit from a Supervision Requirement will be identified. Their offence related and other needs which can be addressed within this Requirement will be highlighted to the Court in the Criminal Justice Social Work Report.
