Community Payback Order: Treatment: Mental Health

Adults

Treatment: mental health
Details of all Specific national or local scheme/intervention(s) available
Treatment includes inpatient or outpatient and includes pharmacological and psychosocial interventions provided by psychology, psychiatry and community mental health teams. The individual requires to suffer from a mental condition, compulsory treatment or compulsion order is not required, proposed treatment is appropriate and arrangements are in place for provision of treatment. A supervision requirement must be imposed.
Possible Outcomes
Improved mental health, emotional management, improved coping skills and strategies, improved resilience, increased compliance with medication/treatment.
Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention
At Criminal Justice Social Work report stage. A psychiatric or multi-disciplinary assessment may be requested at this stage. Specialist assessment is required.

Young People
Programme Title and Provider
Treatment: Mental Health; Youth Justice
Details of all Specific national or local scheme/intervention(s) available
A young person could be required to attend for Mental Health treatment as part of their Community Payback Order. The young person must agree to the mental health treatment requirement otherwise the requirement cannot be made.
Possible Outcomes
The young person will address their mental health issues which may assist in the reduction of offending and ensure they get adequate support.
Process for Assessment and/or inclusion in scheme/intervention
Through the Criminal Justice Social Work Report, where the specific need if identified in the Criminal Justice Social Work Report. This option would require clear evidence of a mental health condition.
