CPO with Restricted Movement Requirement (RMR)

On 17 May 2022 the Management of Offenders (Scotland) Act 2019 introduced use of Electronic Monitoring as a requirement of a CPO. In accordance with National Outcomes and Standards. Action Plans are developed using the appropriate risk assessment tools and plans to reduce the risk of reoffending.
Electronic monitoring can provide assurance about the restriction of movement of a monitored person by imposing time and locational limitations on the monitored person. The monitored person can, for example be monitored to help check that they remain in a specified place for a specified period (or be excluded from a specified place, at a specified time).
As previously noted, a person’s compliance with the terms of any condition is monitored by way of the person wearing a PID (commonly known as a “tag”) and the installation of a home monitoring unit.
