Aim/Purpose:

Edinburgh Positive Wellbeing Service aims to support children and young people aged from 5 to 24 in Edinburgh and their families affected by the imprisonment of a family member. Our family support workers aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing and to reduce the impact of the imprisonment of a loved one by working alongside families to identify their goals and to co-design and deliver bespoke packages of support which reflect the specific needs of each individual and family. We can support families for up to 26 weeks and this can be within the family home, in their local community, within the visitor centre at HMP Edinburgh or other suitable locations

Suitability criteria:

  • All genders
  • Adolescent (17 and under), Young adult (18-35)

Exclusions:

EPWS supports children and young people up to 24 years old and their families

Assessment/referral process:

  • Any agency, Self-referral
